BOCHUM, March 12, 2026 – Edgeless Systems today announced an initiative to bring Confidential AI to European government and regulated industries. Edgeless Systems is delivering Privatemode AI, which integrates NVIDIA Confidential Computing technologies to provide the world's first fully integrated, end-to-end encrypted AI inference solution.
Edgeless Systems is a pioneer in open-source confidential computing. Its technology is embedded in critical infrastructure such as Germany's electronic health record system (ePA). When NVIDIA introduced confidential computing capabilities for GPUs, Edgeless Systems extended that proven security to AI workloads, resulting in its inference service Privatemode AI.
AI often delivers its greatest value when working with sensitive data: health records, classified government information, financial data, intellectual property. In government and highly regulated industries, using AI services on such data has been largely off-limits due to data protection obligations and confidentiality requirements. Edgeless Systems’ solution Privatemode AI is built to solve this problem.
Privatemode AI protects data not only in transit and at rest, but also during processing, inside secure hardware environments. By leveraging NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs with remote attestation capabilities, Privatemode AI provides cryptographic proof that sensitive data remains inaccessible to any unauthorized party, including the infrastructure provider and Edgeless Systems itself. The solution is available as a managed service or can be deployed directly into existing AI infrastructure.
